As the fleet of Classic machines age, maintenance becomes even more critical to keeping these ships safely flying. It becomes difficult to get parts, particularly on models with low productions runs (such as the Cirrus); adequate documentation for making repairs is increasingly hard to come by; and accurate information on things like structural fatigue is simply not available. In one sense, owners of glass gliders over 25 years old are self-made "test pilots".
To help foster the collection of useful information to owners, a collection of Schempp-Hirth Technical Notes is provided below, in PDF format. In the United States, most if not all Airworthiness Directives and Service Advisory Information Bulletins are technically derived from these notes, copies of which are also provided here.

Readers are encouraged to contribute personal information experiences on maintenance and repair, which are distributed in the Newsletter. Neither the contributor nor the author assumes any responsibility or accepts any liability for the accuracy of any such information. It is provided solely for the use of the owner/pilot at his/her own risk.
