Cirrus No. 81, N6662 Currently Owned by:James Spelman STATUS: In Service LOCATION: Boulder Municipal Airport On November 6, 1969, No. 81 was purchased from Schempp-Hirth by Motorless Flight Enterprises of Glastonbury, CT. It’s first "real" owner was Lee Miller of Inglewood, CA, who purchased the plane on March 24, 1970. Curiously, the application for a Standard airworthiness certificate, on April 2, 1970, was signed by none other than Kenneth Briegleb as agent for Lee Miller. Lee flew it for 15 years about ten years before selling it to Tom Priestley, of Culver City, CA, on March 19, 1985. On March 26, 1996, Tom, who had retired and who
also owned an HP-11, sold the ship to the current owner.
