LOCATIONChilhowee Gliderport, Benton, TN

Apparently it was intended that the ship be purchased by A. C. Williams and N. B. Noland - it got far enough for both names to appear on the bill of sale dated October 4, 1968, but Williams’ name was scratched out and when the ship was registered on October 15, 1968, only Noland’s name appears.

It flew under an Experimental Type Certificate starting May 9, 1969 until May 7, 1970.

This ship was featured in the SSA calendar in either 1970 or 1971.

A Form 337 notes the addition of a radio on May 4, 1969, and the addition of a oxygen system on August 3, 1974.

Noland sold it for $12,000 to Ralph C. Lubke of Memphis, TN on November 5, 1976; Lubke registered it on November 16.

On November 7, 1978, Lubke sold it to Ronald L. Mourning of Memphis, TN (Mourning mortgaged it for $7,000).

On May 22, 1982, Mourning sold it to William E. Harris of Miami FL for $7,800.

It was sold again on September 9, 1983 to Michael Phillips, Chris Schrader, Frank Manson, and Joseph V. Rasymas of Miami, FL for $12,000.

This group sold it to its current owners on April 15, 1989. This is the second Cirrus owned by GLERC, by the way - - the first was No. 5, (N99VJ) q.v.
