On May 23, 1968, Glenn R. Williams reserved "any N-number that ended with ‘MD’", and on May 27, 1968, a standard airworthiness certificate was issued.

The first sale date was August 28, 1969 when it was sold to Glenn R. Williams in Odessa, TX who registered it in his name on September 26 of that year.

Glenn sold it on June 2, 1972 to Onal N. Harris of Rolling Hills, CA who registered it the same day.

On January 18, 1977, Onal sold it to Robert W. and Sarah G. Woolever of Ridgecrest, CA who registered it that same day. They took out a mortgage for $10,256, using the plane as collateral, on February 2, 1977.

They sold it next to Robert H. Nyman and Donald A Buman of Lake Elsinore, CA, and the registered it that same day, showing the address 17150 Grand Ave., Lake Elsinore, CA 92330.

On January 18, 1993, Robert Nyman bought Buman out.

The record is unusal in that is has no documented damage history. Total airframe time in early 2006 was just over 2200 hours.
