The original US owner was the "Cirrus Soaring Club", c/o Fred Matteson of Palo Alto, CA on June 27, 1968.

On April 19, 1969, a new bill of sale (and new registration certificate) was issued the "Cirrus Soaring Club" comprised of Dr. H. Lee Harris of Eugene OR, Stuart C. Peterson of N. Highland CA, and Dan Altstatt of Sacramento, CA. On May 20 of that same year, still another registration was made naming Stuart C. Peterson of N. Highland CA President, and Daniel J. Altstatt of Sacramento CA as Secretary/Treasurer. Also named as members were Richard Thomas of San Jose CA, Dr. N. Lee Harris of Junction City OR, Dr. L. Epplett, and Sylvanus Smith. It appears that these additional persons were new members of the "Cirrus Soaring Club".

However, just seven days later - on May 27, 1969, it was sold to Dr. Robert A Chase of Stockton CA who registered it in his name on August 22, 1969.

On June 4, 1972, he sold it to Delbert R. Frederick of San Jose, CA who registered it the same day.

On January 25, 1974 it was sold to Walter D. Barnitz of Santa Barbara CA for $8,500, who registered it in his name on February 5, 1974.

Just a few months later, he sold it on May 25, 1974 to Fred Ebner of Santa Barbara, CA who registered it on August 16, 1974.

Fred sold it on March 23, 1979 to Greg F. and Celetia Sue Heifner of Columbia MO who registered it the same day. Greg Heifner <Gheifner@aol.com> earned his badges in the ship.

On December 23, 1983, Greg bought out Celetia’s share and registered it in his name.

Greg sold it on September 28, 1984 to Joseph E. Foreman, Jack Wilson, and Sandor Nagy of Wadsworth, OH; it was registered on October 4.

On October 6, 1986, Nagy and Wilson bought out Foreman’s share, and on February 6, 1989 Nagy and William L. Hinks of Cleveland, OH bought out Wilson’s share. Finally, on March 22, 1994, Nagy bought out Hinks’ share.

This ship is reported to have no drogue chute, although there are no documented repairs in the FAA documentation history.
