Cirrus No. 133Y, BGA 1869 Currently Owned by: Andrew
Perkins (and others) STATUS: In Service LOCATION:
Haddenham Andy knows it was fully rebuilt as a result of a crash into the mountains
in Wales, but I will have check with the others for details. Last summer she flew in the International Mediterranean cup at Reiti in
Italy. Of course being 17.7 metres she flew in the 18 metres class! Even though
the rest of the class comprised of Ventus 2CM's and DG-600 and 800's she did
alright. Only landed out once and didn't come last. 21/28 See the report in
S&G on Reiti at the beginning of this year for the full story. In addition
to Reiti last year 917 has also competed in the Juniors for the past few years,
managing an 8th only a couple of years back. She has also visited Yorkshire and
Aboyne over the last 5 years so she is still getting lots of flying in. Funnily
enough Andy's Dad almost brought her to the Long Mynd last year (2000) early in
the season but unfortunately the 3 days we set aside were rained off so we never
made. It has always been a place that Andy's father in particular would like to
fly so you never know 917 could visit shortly. Modifications that were made during the rebuild include a hinging canopy
similar to the K21, a nose hook and different undercarriage arrangement.
