McLean STATUS: Destroyed LOCATION: McLean Aviation, Ruffolk, York Little is known about the history of this ship. The ownership record is believed to include John Gilmour Henderson of Edinburgh (March 23, 1973 to April 2, 1975); R.B. Barrett and Partners of Bristol (April 2, 1975 through June 25, 1980); P. R. Philpot and Partners of Lancs. (June 25, 1980 through April 14, 1979) and I. Hamilton and Partners, 20 Fell View, Crossens, Southport, Merseyside PR9 8JX) until the ship was destroyed in 1999. It was destroyed in a crash on September 4, 1999; the insured pilots as of May, 1999 were I. Hamilton, P. Ronfell, D.W. Seed, and P.R. Philpot. No details of the crash are known. The wings from this ship are likely to be used, with the fuselage from No. 23, q.v., and with miscellaneous parts from No. 13, q.v., to construct a single Cirrus sometime in the future.
